Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), the virus that causes disease 2019 (COVID-19) is now leading cause of death globally. This review elaborated human immune response to SARSCoV-2 and its evasion mechanisms as well factors determine case fatality rate effective immunity using articles selected from PubMed, Medline, Google Scholar Science Direct provided an in-depth knowledge immunopathogenesis SARS-CoV-2. Findings forty eligible reviewed revealed host-viral interaction SARS-CoV-2 involves recognition SARS-CoV-2, recruitment adaptor proteins antigen presentation which activates both innate adaptive involved in inhibition viral replication (interferons), destruction virus-infected cells (natural killer CD8 cells) clearance.
